HJC IS-MAX II MINE MC4HSF

Having bought this Modular helmet based on good reviews and on the fact that I currently use a HJC half-helmet, I'm pleasantly surprised by the looks & quality of the HJC IS Max-II. Glossy, aerodynamic appearance is a show stealer. Once you put it on your head, you realise its chin guard is so easily lifted up- a single finger operation by pushing up the chin bar lever. Pushing it down, it fits with a resounding thwack. The visor is clear with supposedly 95% UV protection. It is pinlock ready but doesn't come with pinlock visor. There is a Sun visor fitted inside which can be deployed easily by pushing a tiny switch/lever at the top of the helmet( again single finger operation!). For those wearing specs, the glasses fit well without touching the visor. Wearing the helmet while riding, one realises that there is a significant reduction in wind noise. The viewing area is quite wide- no complaints there. An easily accessible front chin vent helps in circulating air through the helmet. The chin strap can be easily tightened or opened.The only negative point is the weight, approx 1700gms, which is not exactly light. With a price less than USD 200, this helmet meets ECE R 22-05 standards and presumably exceeds DOT. Overall an excellent helmet at a budget price.
