In an era when reliability was as critical as speed, racing legends like Bert Colver claimed huge victories. V-twin engines, the backbone of Royal Enfield’s range, were loved for their reliability and ease of maintenance. The 2 ¼ hp Lightweight Model 140 V-twin, with its 100mpg fuel economy, was especially popular.
