The next generation in motorcycle hearing protection! Effectively filter out dangerous levels of wind noise and road noise.

Product Description

  • NoNoise™ Earplugs are premium quality, industrial grade hearing protectors specially tuned for motorsports. Precision tuned, patented ceramic filters in the ear plugs ensure maximum protection from dangerous levels of engine, wind and road noise.
  • Unique filtration allows telephone, navigation, sirens, music and intercom to remain clearly audible, without a ‘blocked ears’ (occlusion) effect.
  • They fit comfortably, even under your helmet, and help you arrive safely at your destination with less fatigue and a more relaxed, enjoyable ride.
  • Wind noise on a motorcycle or scooter is not only distracting, but can also be harmful to your health.
  • Sounds above 85 dB can cause permanent hearing damage and wind noise for riders can easily reach levels up to 105 dB.
  • NoNoise earplugs effectively reduce wind and road noise.
  • It filters out only what you don’t need to hear.
  • NoNoise™ Motorsport hearing protectors are superior to traditional foam, wax or silicone earplugs.
  • They are precision tuned for optimal attenuation at the sound frequencies experienced by motorcyclists.
  • The independently measured attenuation value (EN352-2-2002) is 29.6 dB at higher (the most harmful) frequencies.
  • More and more insurance companies are critically eyeing the use of hearing protection on motorcycles, because ear plugs that attenuate all sound can cut you off from your direct environment.
  • It’s crucial to use ear plugs with a high quality sound filter, to ensure you’re tuned in to your surroundings and can quickly analyze traffic situations.
  • NoNoise™ Earplugs enhance situation awareness.
  • The innovative NoNoise™ hearing protectors were created by a prominent European expert who has been developing and producing professional hearing protectors for many years.

    Design and Build Quality
Aesthetics: The No Noise Moto Earplugs are discreet and low-profile. Made from a soft, thermo-plastic silicone-free material, they are designed to fit snugly within the ear canal without protruding, making them ideal for use under various helmet types.

Materials: They are constructed from durable, flexible Thermo-plastic elastomer (TPU), with the core innovation being the ceramic filter housed within. This material feels premium and is designed for longevity.

Durability: These earplugs are highly durable. Unlike disposable foam earplugs, they are designed for repeated use, making them an economical and environmentally friendly choice over time. They can be easily cleaned with warm water and soap.

Ergonomics/Usability: The shape is optimized for the ear canal, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit, even during long rides. They don't cause pressure points, which is a common issue with some earplug designs when worn under a tight helmet.

    Features and Performance
Core Functionality: The primary function of the No Noise Moto Earplugs is to reduce harmful decibel levels experienced during motorcycle riding. They excel at attenuating constant drone from wind and engine noise, which is the main culprit for hearing fatigue and damage and in some cases permanent hearing damage in the form of tinnitus.

Unique Selling Points (USPs): Their standout feature is the patented ceramic filter. Unlike traditional earplugs that simply block all sound, this filter is engineered to allow specific frequencies (like human speech, sirens, and traffic signals) to pass through more clearly, enhancing rider safety and awareness.

Specific Features: The "vented" design of the filter prevents a "plugged" feeling or the occlusion effect (where your own voice sounds louder), allowing for comfortable, natural hearing of important sounds. This is a game-changer for long-distance touring or urban commuting.

Performance Metrics: While the exact SNR can vary slightly, they typically offer a noise reduction of around 24 dB. In practical terms, this means the harsh, fatiguing noise of highway wind is significantly dulled, turning a painful roar into a manageable hum, while still allowing you to hear your intercom, GPS instructions, or an approaching emergency vehicle.

    User Experience
Setup/Installation: Insertion is straightforward. A gentle twist and push are usually enough to seat them comfortably and effectively in the ear canal. There are no complicated instructions or special tools required.

Ease of Use: Once inserted correctly, they stay put. Removing them is also simple, thanks to a small tab designed for easy gripping.

Learning Curve: There is virtually no learning curve. The biggest challenge for some might be ensuring they are inserted deep enough for optimal performance without causing discomfort. A few tries usually suffice to find the perfect fit.

Daily Usage: I found these earplugs incredibly comfortable, even on rides exceeding several hours. They didn't cause any irritation, and their low profile meant they didn't interfere with helmet fit or cause pressure spots. The ability to hear traffic and chat with fellow riders at stops without removing them was a significant convenience.

Pain Points: The main "pain point" is ensuring correct insertion. If not seated properly, their effectiveness can be diminished, and wind noise might still be noticeable. Also, while they are comfortable, some individuals might prefer the even softer feel of custom-moulded earplugs, though those come at a much higher cost.

    Pros and Cons
    Pros
Superior Noise Reduction: Effectively cuts out harmful wind and engine drone, reducing hearing fatigue.

Maintains Situational Awareness: Patented ceramic filter allows essential sounds (traffic, voices, sirens) to be heard clearly, enhancing safety.

Exceptional Comfort: Designed for extended wear under a helmet without causing pressure points or discomfort.

Durable & Reusable: Long-lasting and washable, offering great value over time compared to disposable options.

Discreet Design: Low-profile fit ensures they don't protrude or interfere with helmet fit.

    Cons
Higher Upfront Cost: More expensive than basic foam earplugs, though justified by reusability and advanced technology.

Requires Proper Insertion: Effectiveness relies on correct placement in the ear canal; improper insertion reduces performance.

Initial Adjustment: Some users might need a ride or two to get accustomed to the sensation of wearing them.

    Works great

You can hear all important sounds like horns, sirens, etc but it brings down the volume of wind noise. You'll still hear some wind noise but at a very low to mild volume.
Make sure you plug the ear plugs all the way in to get a nice fit. When you look in the mirror from front, you should not see the tips of ear plugs poking out.
